2010 History of Remembering Loved One’s at Our Lady of Fatima Church
Fourteen parish families memorialized a loved one(s) by tithing to pay for framing of one of the original Stations of the Cross that were hung in our church in the early 1960’s.
The pulpit was refurbished, in keeping with the process for accentuating the beauty and history of our church and faith. A cross surrounded by four carvings with gilded features representing the Four Evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) was applied to our original pulpit.
The Angel of Portugal was completed whereby the “rays of the sun” that surrounded him originally during the apparition to the three children were crafted and added to the back of the statue.
Six new holy water fonts were made with original marble from our church.
A relic of St George was donated for the Minister’s Oratory to honor our past, present, and future Server’s of St. George.
Four Relic Shrines in the side niches of the Church were donated:
The Relic of Fatima
The Relic of St. Sebastian
The Relic of St. Faustina (Apostle of Mercy)
The Relic of St. Gianna Molla (pro-life saint )
A new Holy Water Font for the vestibule area has been funded.
Two upcoming opportunities to fund the purchase of a statue of St. Anne (Saint of Grandmothers) and St. Joachim (Saint of Grandfathers) to honor the grandparents of our parish is available now. The statues will be dedicated to the launch of a new monthly grandparent event where they will come together to offer a rosary and devotional event for their children & grandchildren.
If anyone is interested in a beautiful opportunity to remember a family, friend, or special intention, please call the parish office to speak with the Stephanie Supple, Parish Administrator.
